Rincon, Puerto Rico is one of the municipalities of Puerto Rico, founded by Don Luis de Anasco in 1771. After the city of Carolina and San Juan, the town of Rincon is the third richest city in Puerto Rico. Rincon, Puerto Rico is known for the best surfing beaches in the country. The beaches include Marys, domes, sandy beach, Tres Palmas, Rincon Beach Town Plaza and the beach swimming. World Surfing Championship in 1968 was held at Domes beach. Since thatevent, many local residents and tourists have visited Rincon for surfing.

The city flag was designed and created by Evaristo Moreno. Thewhite star in the center symbolizes the urban region. The nine rooms were represented by nine stars surrounding the white central star. Orange, red and yellow mean vitality, vigor and Christianity. The white and green symbolize purity, unity, and hope vegetation.

Rincon, Puerto Rico is known for its sugar cane production. They are also raising livestock. Its industries include clothing, chemicals, electronics and scientific instruments. Apart from the famous beaches, Rincon is also popular for the lighthouse Punta Higueras that the Spanish built in the 1890’s. This lighthouse was unique for its candles of rotation that consists of 26,000 pieces.

Tourists come to Rincon also to enjoy its colorful festivals and activities. These festivities are the Whale Festival is held every March, the International Film Festival held Corner April to May, the Coconut Festival held each May, and the Feast of Santa Rosa de Lima which is held every August.
